Dark Horse Comics comic book series. Issues 7-9 each contain one installment of a Tales of the Jedi miniseries, in color. These 24 pages later became Tales of the Jedi issue #3. "Dark Horse Comics" issue #8 is valuable and highly sought by collectors because it contains the first appearance of a character named X, who quickly became very popular among readers and collectors. Issues 17-19 each contain one installment of a Droids miniseries preview, in color. These 24 pages subsequently appeared in Droids Special comic book #1.

Dark Horse Insider free monthly preview / advertising comic book. Issues 15-20 each contain two black & white pages of a continuing preview of the Tales of the Jedi comic book series. These 12 pages later became the first 12 pages (in color this time) of Tales of the Jedi issue #1. DHI #33 contains a four-page preview of TOJ: Dark Lords of the Sith. Issue 34's cover is a preview of the cover of TOJ:DLS#1 and has a two-page report from SW Day at the San Diego Comic Con.
